I had an idea for my current screenplay that was drastically different than my original idea of where it was going, which actually seemed like a pretty good idea at the time.I sat down this afternoon to try to work out how I'd incorporate it into my script, charting out all of the various logic holes I'd have to fill before the new idea would actually make any sense.
And it gave me a painful, splitting headache.
My lesson for the day: if an idea leaves me lying in bed for 20 minutes clutching my forehead and gritting my teeth just from thinking about it, it's probably best I leave it out of the script.
